History

Deléans, a greedy inheritance

It was once the Deléans chocolate factory...

We are in 1874, in the heart of the city of the sacrings... The activities of trade, shops, gone, concentrate with the accesses of the cathedral. The street Cérès, located at two steps of the bedside of l’édifice, is l’une the most commercial streets of this "historical" centre town.

Born in 1842 in Seringes in l’Aisne, Donat Deléans, confectioner of its state, its shop opens there, to the 34 street, become the 20 since.

In France, the confectionery counts among the professions known as honourable, as well as bakery. N’apprend not the trade which wants !

To become confectioner, Donat Deléans had to prove qu’il was d’honnête family and ready with s’engager in a four years formation. With l’issue of these four years, once an examination of most severe passed, Donat Deléans had taken the road, three years during, for s’initier with the trade near great names.

The Deléans style, c’est also the perpetual creation of new delicacies, new savours, textures, forms. The Master chocolate seller Vincent Frodefond carries out itself his moulds in order to offer regional products.

The Deléans style finally lies in l’accueil d’une large house of tradition : presentation of the chocolates and delicacies, windows, services to measure, forwardings... Nothing n’est left randomly. Side shop Francesca Frodefond reigns as a Master, with talent and generosity. Each day, it works l’âme of the " princess in becoming ".

Chocolate candies

Vincent Frodefond, master craftsman chocolate seller of the town of Rheims, lovingly works out many varieties of chocolate candies : black, milk or white, each one d’entre them s’apprécie, lined fool, of praline-flavoured ice cream, or pastes d’amandes.

To taste the Sin of the devil, a metal disc coated with filled chocolate d’une fool with pulp d’orange and relévé d’un suspicion of ginger.

Vincent Frodefond invites you to discover his laboratory and all its knowledge on l’histoire chocolate, its way makes you share of working at the time of its démontrations.

For a long time the Deléans chocolate factory likes to accomodate the visitors to make them discover a small part of the greedy history of the town of Rheims. Because the house celebrates this year its 133 years.

Discover the history and the universe feeric of the Deléans house, the Master of the places, Vincent Frodefond continues his visit by the explanation and the demonstrations of his knowledge to make .

The visit ends in l’enrobage chocolate, where the matter runs with floods under the greedy eyes.
